I paint to find peace, and to share it.
Hi I’m Leeann - a Canadian painter who finds peace in painting and shares that peace through my work. My work is about slowing down, noticing small things, and remembering that quiet moments still matter.
My paintings come from quiet moments - the kind that make you stop and notice how the light shifts or how the world feels softer when the day slows down. That’s where I paint from. Each piece starts in stillness and grows from there, one brushstroke at a time.
Why I Paint
Painting helps me stay grounded.
It's how I slow down, breathe a little easier, and remember that peace still exists - even when life feels busy or uncertain.
I paint what catches me: a colour that feels familiar, a horizon that feels like home, or a quiet I don't want to lose.
If someone else looks at one of my paintings and feels that same calm, then the work has done what it’s meant to do.
How I Work
I take my time. Each painting unfolds slowly - layer by layer, thought by thought. I use high-quality materials and build everything with care because want my art to last - not just on a wall, but in meaning.
The process is simple, and honest: I step back often, listen, adjust, and paint until it feels right.
My Practice
My studio is nestled in Simcoe County, Ontario, surrounded by the same forests, lakes, and open skies that inspire my work.
I paint year-round - sometimes outdoors, sometimes inside - letting the rhythm of the seasons shape my colours and pace. I don't work in large rushed collections. I make small batches of paintings, each one given the time and quiet it needs to complete.
That slower rhythm keeps the work honest - and helps me stay connected the peace I paint for.
What My Art Means to People
People often tell me my work makes them feel peaceful, or brings a sense of home into their space.
Some say it reminds them of somewhere they’ve been; others say it reminds them of how they want to feel.
I love that everyone experiences it differently.
For me it's peace.
For you, it might be comfort, memory, stillness, or something completely your own - and that’s exactly how it should be.

And I believe that art doesn’t need to be complicated to be meaningful.
