šŸ Nature's Decorations šŸ

It's early - maybe wayyy too early - to talk about winter.

But this afternoon nature couldn't wait.

Red maple leaves found their resting place in the evergreen branches - a quiet decoration laid gently by gravity and the wind.

Some times this time of year is like in-between - not summer -too early for winter.Ā  But the trees remind me it's not a pause at all.Ā It's a blending.

The red and green - the fallen, and the steadfast. They meet for just a little while. It’s fleeting but it's also perfect.

These small ordinary scenes often become the beginnings of paintings. A spark, a pause. A way to slow down and see what nature is quietly arranging for everyone who will notice.

I took a few photos - not to capture it, but to remember how it felt: nature's perfect ornaments, awe-filled, fleeting, crisp, with the scent ofĀ evegreens and fall leaves, .Ā

Maybe you'll recognize it in a future painting.

I love that nature decorated without even trying.
